Italian Mountain Bike Champion, Marzio Deho, raced at the BC Bike Race last week.  He spent a few days in Victoria with us prior to the race, relaxing and riding. Rob, our Canadian partner of Fawcettexpeditions headed out with Brian Park of Oak Bay Bikes to make this video with 2 of the Canadians he will be meeting at the Mongolia Bike Challenge in just a few weeks, Cory Wallace, and Thomas Skinner. The canucks showed Marzio some west coast singletrack, a good warm up for what was to come!

We asked Marzio to comment on the BC Bike Race experience and share his thoughts on returning to Mongolia to defend his title:

“It has been a really positive experience in a fascinating area of Canada with forests, lake and the sea. We saw places with wonderful landscapes. I found a very good organization that managed the event at its best. About the stages… I found the trail very technical and challenging, almost all single-track with a lot of free-ride sections. Here in Europe we are not used to this kind of race, usually the trails are more rideable and varied, but it has been worth it to try and face this situation with my mtb.

About MBC, I already know what to expect so I am really prepared to face this second edition.  I hope to arrive at the start line in my best physical condition and for sure I will do my best to reach the best result.”
